The Viceroy is one of the most magnificent hotels on the island of Bali, Indonesia. This family-owned palace is located inland just outside of beautiful Ubud, seated on a remote mountain perch that overlooks the breathtaking Lembah Valley.

If Ubud isn't dreamy enough with it's airy yoga studios, organic cafes, lushly terraced rice patties and long winding rainforest tracks… take relaxation a step further with the luxurious solitude of The Viceroy.
Travellers who seek respite from the fast-paced hustle of Seminyak life, fall instantly in love with Ubud. Set well away from the hoards of tourists and thick pollution that populates city life on the Bali beaches, Ubud is just a breath of fresh air.

Decadent 5+-star villas with ice-blue private plunge pools are precariously perched on these luscious green cliffs overlooking the valley of palm trees and wild rambling jungle.  The accolades are long; Conde Nast  winner of 'Best View', 'Best Service 2015/16', International Hotel Awards 'World's Best Honeymoon Boutique Hotel' 2015, Trip Advisor 'Top 25 small hotels', 'Top 25 luxury hotels', and we have to agree... this is paradise at the end of the winding road.

The villas are sophisticated and luxuriously appointed. The grounds, spectacular yet extremely welcoming, including the mountain top infinity pool that extends out over what feels like the very tops of the palm trees, into the whistling tropical wind of the valley.

I'll give it to you in one long, deliciously rambling train of thought as I sit in the tropical afternoon sun (of course clothing optional here...) on our private terrace overlooking the King's Valley. The air is thick and humid. The breeze is light. The sound of palms leaves crashing into one another in the wind echoes throughout the valley. Not much else is audible, except for the soft lapping of the pool beneath my feet.
Linen robes and fresh papaya adorn this afternoon. Skinny-dipping and sunset dinner reservations. From the moment you step into this wonderland, you’re free to do whatever you want.

Complete luxury here with Viceroy helipad for those arriving by chopper, Swedish-trained masseuses on call and rose petal baths complete with house made ginger ale. It’s not just the epic layout of the property, the award-winning restaurant or exquisite service, but the little touches of magic that set The Viceroy apart. Not a detail is spared.  Paradise.
