Tambo Del Inka

A
Luxury Collection Hotel in the heart of The Sacred Valley, Peru.

Tambo is a calm, oasis of greenery and lush plant life nestled in between two spectacular mountains.
Every little detail, from the warm greeting to the decadent breakfast, is crafted to absolute perfection at Tambo. This is our top pick for soul-nourishing luxuries, especially recommended after an arduous hike to Machu Picchu.
The surrounding neighbourhood is a maze of curiosities, little cobbled alleyways,  faded pastel trimmings and old-world typography. The streets were all but empty. The wind whistled through the charming town, not a soul in sight. But, hidden along little back streets, and around unmarked corners were the culinary delights of home-cooked Purivan cuisine. The Tambo concierge are one of a kind. A solution to every problem, an answer to every question. Their recommendations delighted us.

The suites in this luxury resort are enormous and face either the mountains, or the mountains. You can't go wrong. Peaks of fresh snow are set starkly against the brilliant bright blue skies as your backdrop. The air is fresh, the sun is strong and the smell of jasmine wafts thought the hotel grounds, dancing with your senses. Corner spa baths are a highlight of suites, with shutters that open out into a night sky to soak whilst feeling the chill of the night air descend.  Large king sized beds with fluffy pillows and cloud-like duvets. Long peaceful slumber awaits with black out curtains and only the sounds of crickets at dusk. Fresh flowers, mood lighting, polished wooden furniture.

Every luxury is available. Full gym, spectacular mountain pool, iced herbal tea from the Tambo garden, massage and spa. Heaven after a hike in those steep mountains. Nothing better.

Every angle of Tambo is unique, from the sky-high wooden celings dotted with sparkling fairy lights to the open, crackling fireplaces evoking a smoky, homely feel.
Breakfast is a buffet of both healthy and indulgent cuisine. One of the best we have come across worldwide.

I was truly disappointed to have to leave this haven, and will absolutely return at a moments notice. It isn't just the look of Tambo that captured my heart, but the vibe of this place. The way your body relaxes when you walk through the doors. The energy of the mountains. The kindness and professionalism of the staff and the luxurious fit-out of this hotel make this one of our top picks at The Paradise Road.
Truly magical.
