Spicers Sangoma - Blue Mountains, NSW

A short drive outside of Sydney is a hidden gem among the gums. Spicers Sangoma retreat sits nestled at the end of a long private driveway in the Blue Mountains. Aptly named after the Zulu word for healer (or witch doctor!), Sangoma is a place to rejuvenate and take stock. Connect back to nature.

As an eco-certified retreat, Spicers Sangoma Retreat features sauna facilities, infinity lap pool with a stunning view, open plan chic lounge and six free-standing pavilion-style suites, a glamper of a tent and one room annexed below the main lodge.

Misty mornings and star filled nights are highlights at this magical escape. Whilst I was visiting, the rain was sprinkling down and mist hung around the retreat in a magical thick fog so I’m yet to witness the million dollar view - an excuse to head straight back.

Nothing better than lighting the fire and enjoying the luxury rooms as the rain dances on the roof and the fire crackles at the foot of the bed.
The restaurant is fitted out to feel like an inviting chic country home, fires, views and
Everything is magic here. Private dinner with an abundance of candles and rose petals inside the timber-filled room ended the night perfectly. 9pm saw me crawl into the soft down bedding, gazing at the vaulted timber ceiling in the firelight as I drifted off to sleep. Wake up was 6am to a strong chorus of cicadas closely followed by birdlife and the breathtaking colours of dawn.
Sangoma is a romantic place to escape in a luxurious slice of nature.

Travel here with a loved one or close friend as everything is set up for couples. Opt in for the private dinner experience.
